Interesting Facts & History
of Nipomo There are lots of interesting facts about
Nipomo. We feel the most notable is that Nipomo is known to have
the Best Weather in the Country,
having been the only community to receive a perfect score of 100
in the Places Rated Almanac. Nipomo is home to the Nipomo-Guadelupe Dunes, a small portion of which is used for ATV recreation while the rest is preserved for hiking and a variety of wildlife (ask about the easy boardwalk hike across the microenvironments of the dunes out to a remote stretch of ocean). Jocko's is Nipomo's claim to fame as it is repeatedly voted in the top 10 steaks on the west coast. Tiny Nipomo is also now home to fabulous Sushi, Thai, Italian, Pizza and Mexican restaurants. Nipomo also has a rich history.

Kaleidoscope
Inn History
The Kaleidoscope Inn was
constructed of redwood in 1887 by retired rancher Vitalis
Runels.
In 1902, Joseph & Todie
Dana (of the historic California Dana family) bought the
home. It remained in the Dana family until the 1960's.
From the 1960's until 1987, the home was used as
an antique store and a private residence.
In 1987, Bill and Patty Linane lovingly restored the home
and gardens and began operating the Bed and Breakfast as
well as hosting weddings, receptions, and other special
events in the gardens.
In early 2002, Kevin Beauchamp and Carolayne Holley Beauchamp
purchased the Inn and have been busy spending their free
time working in the gardens ever since!
The Kaleidoscope Inn.
Each window of the house is bordered in stained glass. This
glass creates a "kaleidoscope" effect as sunlight
streams into the home. As a result, the Linane's christened
their restored Victorian home The Kaleidoscope Inn.
